Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department <br />600 Town Center Parkway <br />Lino Lakes, MN 55014 <br />(651) 982 -2440 Fax (651) 982 -2439 <br />www.ci.lino - lakes.mn.us <br />November 30, 2006 <br />TO: Park Board Members <br />FROM: Mike Hoffman, Parks Supervisor <br />SUBJECT: November Park Maintenance Update <br />The past month has seen us putting our parks and athletic fields to bed for the winter and <br />preparing our rinks and equipment for the upcoming season. <br />Maintenance activities during the month of November have included the following: <br />o Completed final mowing of the season. Mowing equipment has been cleaned, <br />maintained and stored or changed over to winter equipment (blower, broom, plow). <br />o Other equipment (tractors, snowblowers, tanker, chain saws, weed whips, etc) has been <br />maintained, winterized and stored or prepped for winter action. <br />o Completed exterior trim painting of City Hall warming house. This completes total <br />exterior renovation of this building (new roof, siding, windows, doors, and paint). We <br />hope to tackle Birch Park shelter next year. <br />o Playground inspections — added fibar at Highland Meadows Park. <br />o Inventoried party wagon contents. <br />o Assisted the Recreation Department with Turkey Shoot — unpacked cutouts and supplies, <br />loaded and unloaded party wagon, stored cut -outs and supplies. <br />o Core aerated football and soccer fields. <br />o Top dressed football and soccer field wear areas. <br />o Fertilized approximately 43 acres of irrigated athletic fields and turf. <br />o Watered spring planted trees and shrubs. <br />o Removed dock at Country Lakes Park. <br />o Removed soccer nets and goals from fields. <br />o Assisted the Environmental Coordinator <br />o Burned prairie restoration sites in Stoneybrook (4.5 acres) and Foxborough (2.5 <br />acres) Developments. <br />o Staked boulevard trees. <br />o Buckthorn control. <br />o NPDES inspection and compliance. <br />o Public Service maintenance yard — cleanup and organize. <br />
