Lino Lakes Parks & Recreation
Department
Program Highlights
November Park Board Update
YOUTH
Youth Instructional: Programs are winding down
for the season. Many will end this month and early
next month. Winter session programs will begin in
January and February. The first day of registration
for winter programs is December 1.
ADULTS
Men's Basketball: Men's 5 player Basketball league will begin on Wednesday, December 6. We have seven
teams registered. The season will run from December 6 until March 14.
Open Basketball: Open Men's Basketball started on Monday, November 13 at Centennial Middle School.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Family Turkey Shoot: The 9th Annual Family Turkey Shoot was a success! 145 teams participated in this
year's event - our third highest total to date! 22 volunteers helped at the event this year. They came to us from
Forest Lake Senior High School National Honor Society, Centennial High School National Honor Society,
ntennial High School Student Council and Centennial Middle School. Despite the small number of volunteers
pared to other years, they did a fantastic job! They were hard working, friendly and very motivated. For next
year's event, we may have to think about a special addition to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the event -
maybe a cake for refreshments or some strolling entertainment like a balloon artist.
Breakfast with Santa: Breakfast with Santa registration is slowing down, but nevertheless we have 169
participants registered and will continue to accept registrations through at least the end of the month.
Secret Holiday Gift Shop: This year's Secret Holiday Gift Shop will be held on Wednesday, December 13
and Thursday, December 14 from 4 - 7 p.m. each evening at Lino Lakes City Hall. Registration is not required.
Everyone is welcome! This is an excellent way for children to learn about making choices and budgeting.
SKATING SEASON & BROCHURE
Skating Season: Warming house attendants
and Skating Lesson staff are being hired for the
upcoming skating season. The estimated date
to open skating rinks is December 17.
Brochure: The winter brochure is now
available on -line at www.ci.lino- lakes.mn.us.
Check it out! We have lots of new programs
Bred this season as well as many returning
rites. On -line registration begins
December 12.
Questions? Please call Liz Benoit or Brian
Hronski at 651- 982 -2440.
