qd. <br />Lino Lakes Public Services Department <br />600 Town Center Parkway <br />Lino Lakes, MN 55014 <br />(651) 982 -2440 Fax (651) 982 -2439 <br />2006 PARKS AND RECREATION <br />DEPARTMENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS <br />Parks <br />♦ Installed Birch Street Trail — Rice Lake Elementary School to Fawn Lane <br />• Installed open air shelters at Behm's Park and Highland Meadows Park <br />♦ Removed and replaced siding, windows, doors, and trim at City Hall Park Building. <br />Also painted the building <br />♦ Replaced indoor matting at City Hall Park Building <br />• Buckthorn removal in South Reshanau Lake Estates area <br />♦ Painted interior walls and ceiling at Sunrise Park Building <br />♦ Assisted Anoka County Parks with tree and brush removal for Legacy Trail Project <br />(2,000 lineal feet) <br />♦ Planted 72 trees, 20 shrubs, and 60 perennials at various locations <br />♦ Burned, seed bed prepped, and over - seeded prairie areas at Highland Meadows <br />Park, Marshan Park, and South Reshanau Lake Estates area <br />♦ Removed outfield fence and three utility poles at Lino Park to create additional <br />soccer fields. Also leveled and seeded area <br />♦ Built additional railings at Trappers Crossing staircase to eliminate bicycles from <br />using private property to access boardwalk <br />• Worked with Eagle Scout to install new park sign and landscaping at Shenandoah <br />Park <br />Recreation <br />♦ Processed 3,641 registrations (571 via online registration) <br />♦ Special Events still very popular: <br />o Sweetheart Dance - 129 participants <br />o Family Turkey Shoot - 145 teams <br />o Breakfast with Santa - 201 participants <br />o Snow Day - 300 participants (poor weather) <br />♦ Began pre - school AbraKadoodles art program (22 participants) <br />♦ Summer playground enrollment was 272 participants <br />♦ Tennis program had enrollment of 223 participants <br />• Volleyball academy filled up with 42 participants <br />♦ Lacrosse programs had enrollment of 132 participants <br />♦ Youth football (303 participants) and youth soccer (423 participants) enrollments <br />increased <br />• 3rd Annual TAAG Beach Party had 67 middle school -age youth participating (low <br />due to poor weather) <br />♦ 10 Party Wagon reservations <br />♦ 15 Picnic Shelter reservations <br />♦ 210 "Letters From Santa" <br />♦ 119 shoppers visited our Secret Holiday Shop <br />1/30/2007 <br />J:\Ricks Folder \Goals and Accomplish\2006 with Ietterhead.doc <br />
