Park Board Meeting - December 4, 2006 <br />Minutes <br />• The December 4, 2006 City of Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was <br />called to order at 6:35 p.m., by Chair Lindy. <br />• <br />Roll call was taken; members present were Pat Huelman, Bill <br />Kusterman, Katie Boyle and George Lindy. Absent members were <br />Aaron Frederickson, Pam Taschuk and Paul Montain. <br />Also present was Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director and <br />Sandie Wood, Public Services Department Office Manager. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM NOVEMBER 6, 2006: <br />Pat Huelman made a motion, seconded by Katie Boyle, to approve <br />the November 6, 2006 minutes as presented. The minutes were <br />approved. <br />SETTING AGENDA: <br />There were no changes to the agenda. <br />OPEN MIKE: <br />There was no one present for open mike. <br />DISCUSS AND APPROVE 2007 PARK BOARD GOALS: <br />Rick provided members with information to help them when <br />considering the 2007 Park Board Goals: <br />The total undesignated funds, (as of October 31, 2006) is <br />$153,047. <br />Pine Glen Phase I Development ($72,625) - He said it was the <br />consensus of the Park Board to designate these funds for future <br />development for Lino Park. There was also discussion to possibly <br />master plan Lino Park in 2007. Assuming the $72,625 is <br />designated for Lino Park, that leaves a remaining balance of <br />$80,422 of undesignated funds. <br />He went on to say the City Council is considering allocating <br />$50,000 of dedicated parks funding on an annual basis to begin <br />paying off the cost of the land at Centerville Road /Birch Street <br />that was acquired in 1999. It is anticipated when the property <br />is developed /sold the dedicated parks fund will be reimbursed <br />accordingly. Assuming City Council approval, the Undesignated <br />Funds for 2007 will be further reduced to $30,422. <br />The proposed 2007 Budget includes $25,000 for trails. <br />An alternative option for the Pheasant Hills trail segment that <br />was discussed at the November Park Board meeting was to utilize <br />surplus boardwalk segments from the Foxborough Development. <br />Unfortunately, the developer doesn't have any boardwalk sections <br />available.
