Well it arrived just like the weatherman predicted. (I guess they
do get it right occasionally). Round #2 kept us busy the first few days of March plowing
streets, trails and parking lots.
✓ Snow and ice removal from Rice Lake Elementary tunnel.
✓ Picked up and stored hockey goals for the season.
✓ Street tree pruning.
✓ Equipment maintenance change from winter to summer equipment. Service and store
winter equipment.
✓ Built firefighting tank and pump for Polaris Ranger (for prairie restoration burns).
✓ Cleaned, organized and painted floor at Sunrise Park garage.
✓ Demolished Lino Park warming house.
✓ Brought water service into Lino Park for future irrigation (contracted).
✓ Playground inspections and repairs.
✓ Ball field inspections and preparation for spring play.
o Moved base pegs from 65' to 70' on adult softball fields (new rules).
o Laid out and painted fair /foul lines.
o Renovated pitching mounds (Sunrise #3 and 4, Centennial Middle School #1).
o Added ag -lime to infields as needed.
o Installed base pegs at 60' on CMS #3 and 4 (girls fast pitch).
o Removed base pegs, home plate and rubber from Lino Park. Infield and fencing
will be removed this summer.
✓ Soccer and Lacrosse field layout and painting. Anchoring and putting nets on goals.
o 3 soccer at Rice Lake Elementary
o 3 soccer at Centennial Middle School
o 2 soccer half fields at Marshan Park
o 2 soccer (1 full, 1 half) at Lino Park
o 1 soccer at Sunset Oaks Park
o 1 soccer at Sunrise Park
o 1 soccer at Clearwater Creek Park
o 2 lacrosse at Centennial Middle School
✓ Shenandoah Park Boulevard - many of you are aware we have removed all the
Cottonwood and Box elder trees from the front boulevard (over 30 trees). We then stump
ground many of the existing stumps. We now have removed the remaining stumps; tree
spaded an existing Hackberry to a new location, added additional soil to the boulevard,
