Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation
Department Program Highlights
May Park Board Update
YOUTH
Youth Instructional Programs: Our youth instructional programs
are winding down for the season. Highlights of the season: Soccer
Mini -Camp finished on May 21 - 37 total participants were registered
in three classes, Basket "Have a Ball" finished on May 22 - 13 total
participants were registered in two classes, Dance classes end
June 4 and 5 - 42 total participants were enrolled in five classes,
Tae Kwon Do ends June 7 - 23 total participants were registered
in three classes, Toss, Kick and Catch ended on May 21 - 7 total
participants were registered in one class.
T -Ball: Spring (May) T -Ball is wrapping up. We had 90 three, four, five,
and six year olds participating!
YLM Lacrosse Leagues: YLM Lacrosse has started for the summer
season. We have one 3rd /4th grade team, two 5th /6th grade teams, and one 7th /8th grade team playing this season.
There are a total of 77 boys in grades 3 -8 playing in this summer lacrosse league.
Playground Program: We are gearing up for the start of summer and the Playground Program. As of May 25,
participants were enrolled in the program. Our afternoon programs at Behm's Park, Birch Park and Sunrise
ark are full at 50 participants each and our afternoon program at Clearwater Creek Park is almost full at 42
participants. There are still plenty of openings in our Highland Meadows afternoon program as well as our Birch
Park and Sunrise Park morning programs.
Teen Programs: Our Access Adventure teen programming is off to a slow start. We had to cancel two of our
spring programs (Earn 5K in 6 Weeks and Metro Area Skatepark Tour) due to lack of registrations. We hope our
summer Amazing Teen Race draws some participants, but at the moment it is still without interest. We will be
continuing Access Adventure programming in the fall
despite the poor showing this spring and summer. We hope
that our new relationship with the Chain of Lakes YMCA
will help increase attendance. The Access Adventure
collaborative now consists of the Parks and Recreation
Departments of Lino Lakes, Shoreview, Blaine, and Arden
Hills, and the Chain of Lakes YMCA.
ADULT
Softball: Adult Softball is off to a great start. We haven't
had one rain out yet this season!
Adult Golf: Adult Golf lessons are finishing for the May
ession. We had a big jump in registration this spring.
sons are run at Shadow Ridge Driving Range and
Chomonix Golf Course.
Questions? Please contact Liz Benoit or Brian Hronski at
651- 982 -2440.
Basket "Have A Ball"
