• <br />• <br />Park Board Meeting - March 5, 2007 <br />Minutes <br />minutes or a summary would be done for these meetings so they <br />could be kept up to date as to what was going on with this <br />committee. <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />a. Fairway Flyerz Letter: <br />Rick said a letter addressed to the Park Board regarding disc <br />golf courses was included in the packets. The letter was <br />discussed and the Park Board asked Rick to contact Anoka County <br />about putting the disc golf course in the regional park because <br />they had more suitable space. <br />RECREATION DEPARTMENT UPDATE: <br />Rick referred to the Recreation Program Highlights update from <br />February 2007. He talked about the Sweetheart Dance, Hockey <br />Skills /Skating Lessons and Adult Basketball. The department is <br />considering distributing a separate brochure three times a year <br />rather than being inserted in the city newsletter. <br />PARKS DEPARTMENT UPDATE: <br />Rick reviewed the memo from Mike Hoffman, Parks Supervisor, which <br />summarized the maintenance highlights for February 2007. He <br />touched on the completion of tree removal and stumps in <br />Shenandoah Park and regular winter maintenance that staff is <br />doing. Pat Huelman thought Birchwood Acres Park could use a few <br />wood duck houses placed in the south or west end of the park. <br />Rick asked members to review the rest of the memo and to contact <br />him if they had any further questions on the update. <br />NEXT PARK BOARD MEETING: <br />Chair Lindy advised the next Park Board meeting would be held on <br />Monday, April 2, 2007, 6:30 p.m. <br />ADJOURN: <br />Paul Montain made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Pat Huelman. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 7:51 p.m. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Sandra Wood <br />Public Services Office Manager <br />These minutes were approved at the May 7, 2007 Park Board <br />Meeting. <br />sw /parkbrd /minutes /3 -5 -07 Park Board Minutes.doc <br />3 <br />
