• <br />• <br />Craft: Kaleidoscope Kirigami <br />Your mission: to visit different places around the world in 5 days. This week will have an <br />international flair. Learn about different cultures through games and crafts from different countries. <br />Hold your very own Olympics at your park: complete with medal ceremonies! Keep energy levels <br />high...you're more than halfway through the summer! <br />Week 5 — Amazing Animals <br />Craft: Color -Me Postcards Wild Life <br />Monkey around this week as you and park explore the wild and crazy animal kingdom. Have <br />your games and crafts revolve around animals this week! Act like animals and play charades, <br />instead of capture the flag play predators and prey. Create animal masks and put on a play! <br />There is so much you can do this week, so go hog wild! <br />Week 6 — Beach Blanket Bingo <br />Craft: Luau Frame <br />It's party time, BEACH party time, that is! Get wet and wild this week and dedicate this one to <br />the watery fun you have at the beach. Build sandcastles, make sunglasses and sand art, play <br />volleyball and Frisbee! This is also a great week to play Islands, shark and the limbo! Just <br />don't forget your sunscreen! <br />Week 7 — Lights, Camera, Action <br />Craft: Clown Puppets <br />Hollywood, here we come! This week is all about the magic of entertainment. Put on plays, <br />fashion shows and talent shows. Learn songs and perform them for parents! It's all up to you <br />this week! Go wild with your supplies and use them all up! Remember, Thursday is the Finale, <br />so plan on a good time! <br />SPECIALISTS <br />A variety of specialists visited the Playground Program sites this summer. All specialists except <br />the Art Specialist visited each site once during the summer — the Art /Event Specialist visited <br />each site weekly. This summer's specialists included: Lino Lakes Police, Centennial Fire, <br />Wargo Nature Center, and the Art Specialist. <br />STAFF <br />Twenty -four staff were hired to work with the Playground <br />Program this year in the following positions: Summer <br />Coordinator — 1, Art Specialist /Playground Supervisor — 1, <br />Head Leader — 8, Leader — 8, Assistant Leader — 6. <br />Of the 24 total staff hired 12 were first year staff and 12 <br />were returning staff. Staff ranged in age from recently <br />completed sophomore year in high school to completed <br />college. Our specific breakdown as to grade completed in <br />2007 was as follows: Completed 10th grade — 3, Completed 11th grade — 3, Completed 12th <br />grade — 7, Completed 1st year of college — 5, Completed 2nd year of college — 2, Completed 3rd <br />year of college — 1, Completed 4th year of college — 1, College graduates — 2. <br />
