• <br />• <br />Park Board Meeting - May 5, 2008 <br />Minutes <br />Rick said the warming house attendants took hourly counts and that was how the <br />attendance information for the report was gathered. The skating rinks were open until <br />March 3 for a total of 73 days. He also told members that associations were used this <br />year to help maintain the rinks over the weekends. <br />8b. Review Dedicated Parks Fund Balance Sheet: <br />Rick informed the board that he put the dedicated park fund balance sheet information <br />in the packets for the new members and to help keep the other board members current. <br />He went on to say that the report shows the amount of money designated for projects <br />and what funds were undesignated to be used.for future projects. <br />Rick explained that Tree Trust was contracted to do the work on the boardwalk and it <br />turned out very nice. He said they were very reasonable in price. Rick explained that <br />the Pheasant Hills trail has not been paved yet but should be done in the next month or <br />so. He told new members that this is the only project being worked on currently. Rick <br />said there is still work that needs to be done on the ponding area this spring and he will <br />keep the board posted as to cost and if there is any money left over. <br />Rick told members that $25,000 for trail maintenance comes out of the General Fund <br />8c. Distribute Updated Membership Roster: <br />A membership roster was distributed to members. Rick asked that they review their <br />information and let Sandie know if any corrections were necessary. <br />PARKS DEPARTMENT UPDATES: <br />Rick reviewed the February, March and April Park Updates. He told members that staff <br />did controlled burns at Town Center, Behm's Park and Centennial Middle School. Rick <br />also reported that staff continued structural pruning of young park trees. He said that <br />maintenance staff is maintaining 10 soccer fields, one lacrosse field and 15 ballfields. <br />He told members to read the information included in the packet and to contact him if <br />they had any questions. <br />NEXT PARK BOARD MEETING: <br />The next Park Board meeting will be held on Monday, June 2, 2008, 6:30 p.m. <br />ADJOURN: <br />Pam Taschuk made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Pat Huelman.
