PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD APRIL 13, 1988 <br />change in the situation of the land that would justify the <br />rezoning. <br />After considerable discussion it was agreed to study the <br />land as part of the city's continuing planning program. In <br />addition the issue of the need for additional industrial <br />land would be submitted to the Economic Development <br />Committee. <br />MOTION: Prokop moved to table the request to the August <br />Planning and Zoning Board meeting. Seconded by Averbeck and <br />the motion was carried unanimously. <br />Chairman Cody directed the applicant and the staff to <br />provide additional information to the board members before <br />the August meeting. <br />REQUEST FROM PAUL IRVINE FOR A VARIANCE TO ALLOW <br />CONSTRUCTION OF A GARAGE AND ADDITION TO A RESIDENCE AT 7425 <br />PELTIER LAKE DRIVE APPLICATION 88 -10. <br />Paul Irvine appeared on his own behalf and explained he <br />wished to complete the purchase of land adjacent to Peltier <br />Lake. Upon purchase he further wishes to construct an <br />addition to the single - family residence located on the land. <br />The new construction would consist of an attached garage and <br />additional living space above the garage. Irvine requested <br />a variance from the 75 foot setback requirement from the <br />lake. Irvine's addition would be located behind the house, <br />away from the lake but within the 75 foot setback. <br />Jeff Joyer arrived at the meeting at 8:12 p.m. Board <br />member - Prokop asked Irvine to go over the six points <br />required by a ordinance to justify variances. <br />MOTION: It was moved by Crohn to recommend to the City <br />Council that a variance be granted to Paul Irvine, <br />Application 88 -10, to allow an addition to an existing <br />structure within the 75 foot setback requirement of the <br />Lakeshore Management Ordinance. The applicant having <br />justified the request as required by Section 5, Subdivision <br />7, paragraphs 1 -6 of the city's zoning ordinance. Prokop <br />seconded the motion and the motion carried three to one with <br />two abstaining. In favor were Crohn, Prokop, and Averbeck. <br />Against was Irwin, Abstaining were Cody and Joyer. <br />TEMPORARY TRUCK PARKING ORDINANCE: The members of the board <br />reviewed the draft truck parking ordinance prepared by the <br />PAGE 3 <br />
