Board members present: Chairman
Cody, Nelson, Crohn, Prokop and Joyer. Also present were
City Planner -- John Miller, City Engineer - Ron Stahlberg,
Council Member - Andy Neal and Secretary - Connie Husby.
Members Absent: Irwin and Averbeck
CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES: Nelson noted that on page 3 on
the editorial changes it was a bit confusing and the minutes
should be corrected to say that the Editorial changes
supported the facts of the motion.
Prokop moved to accept the minutes as corrected and Nelson
seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously.
OPEN MIKE: No persons scheduled
CONSIDERATION OF ESTABLISHMENT OF AN OFFICIAL MAP FOR PARTS
OF SECTION 31 OF THE CITY OF LINO LAKES:
The very southwest corner of Lino Lakes presents some
special planning problems.
Just west of this land in Circle Pines is the Indian Hills
residential development. This high value residential
project is using the last vacant land suitable for
development in that city. South of section 31 in Shoreview
is other high value residential development. While there is
still some land available in Shoreview, it is at a premium,
most of that city is already developed.
Several parcels in Section 31 are currently for sale and one
parcel has moved to the "concept plan" stage of subdivision.
It's apparent that future development proposals will be
brought before the Planning and Zoning Board from this area.
Land in adjacent cities is being used up and this is the
next logical place for development.
In Section 31 there are about 110 separate parcels of land.
All but a handful of these could possibly be resubdivided
sometime in the future. Some land has already been platted
in large lots while other parcels have been transferred by
metes and bounds descriptions.
PAGE 1
