The northernmost building (Building A on the
site plan) is planned to receive an addition to the east side of the
building (facing Lake Drive) to house new office space and restrooms.
This will also allow for more space within the present building to
be used as shop space. The southernmost building (Building B on the
site plan) is planned to receive an addition to the north side of
the building. Currently Building B is rented by Mr. Wolters to a
auto and truck repair company, and the proposed addition would pro-
vide more interior storage space.
The Board asked whether the concerns of the City Planner, as spelled
out in his 8/5/86 memo regarding this issue, have been addressed.
Mr. Kluegel said each item of concern has been addressed and all
appears to be in order.
MOTION: Mr. Prokop moved to recommend to Council an amendment to
a conditional use permit for Paul Wolters, for property located at
7791 Lake Drive, per application number 86 -26, wherein the applicant
requests to build an addition to Building A and Building B per the
diagram accompanying the application. The exterior building material
for Building A is to be rough sawn cedar on the east, north and south
sides of the building. The exterior building material for Building B
is to be consistent with the existing building. This amendment is
recommended for approval because it will be an improvement to the
existing property. All previous conditions of the conditional use
permit are to remain in force. Mrs. Klaus seconded the motion which
carried unanimously.
MOTION: Mr. Prokop moved to recommend to Council approval of the site
and building plan for Paul Wolters, for property located at 7791 Lake
Drive, per application number 86 -26, per the accompanying site plan
with the conditions that the south, east and north sides of Building
A are sided with rough sawn cedar and additional trees are planted
per the site plan. Motion was seconded by Mr. McLean and carried
unanimously.
SIGN ORDINANCE
Mr. Bohjanen and Mr. Kluegel explained that recently there was a meeting
held at City Hall to discuss the policy and ordinance for signs within
Lino Lakes. Mr. Cody asked who attended the meeting and was told that
the Economic Development Committee and Chamber of Commerce were notified
and several were in attendance.
A 7/11/86 memo summarizing the suggested adjustments to the sign ordin-
ance and policy was reviewed by the Board. One suggestion was that
the annual fee for renewal be eliminated. This is a policy issue handled
at staff level. The other suggestions would amend the sign ordinance
mik with regard to portable signs and temporary signs. The memo requested
IOW
that the proposed changes be adopted as policy for a trial period of
six months, and at the end of that trial period be adopted within the
sign ordinance.
