Fvbruary 27, 1980 <br />Comprehensive Land Use Plan <br />• <br />likMr. Reinert called to meeting to order and explained this is a continuatio <br />f a hearing that was held on February 18, 1980 for the purpose of re- <br />veiwing the proposals for the Comprehensive Land Use Plan. Tonight's <br />meeting will present a brief overview and then open up for questions. <br />The suggestions will be taken for consideration and either used or dis- <br />carded. When the draft is ready for presentation, it will then be for- <br />warded to various communities and agencies for their comment. Then will <br />be presented to the Council for adoption. <br />Members present, Prokop, Doocy, Heath, Reinert,Bathke, Schwankl, Johnson. <br />Mr. Reinert asked Mr. Short to present a brief overview of the Plan. <br />Mr. Short presented maps showing the Land Use, Thoroughfares and Parks. <br />Mr. Gotwald would present the map showing the proposed sewer plan. <br />Mr. Short explained the major points of influence, the catagories use to <br />desingate land use and the generally locations of the lands. <br />Mr. Gotwald presented the proposed comprehensive sewer plan and outlined <br />the areas of each district. <br />At this time Chairman Reinert opened the floor for questions from the <br />audience. <br />Mr. Marier requested additional information on storm sewer system and <br />had concerns over the correctional facility's present sewer ponding area. <br />e also asked for a more detailed explanation of the Capitol Improvement <br />program and ruture assessment policies. <br />Other questions from the audience involved park size and development <br />and the issue of housing was rediscussed in more detail, <br />Mr. Stanley addressed the Planning Commission requesting that a parcel <br />of land that was shown in the Comprehensive Plan as zoned Light Industrial <br />to be changed to singel family residential (that parcel being located <br />between the correctional facility and Interstate 35W) After a brief <br />discussion, the Planning Commission denied Mr. Stanley's request to <br />change the Comprehensive Plan from Light Industrial to single family <br />housing. <br />• <br />
