Park Board Meeting - January 4, 2001 <br />Minutes <br />Pam stated that Clearwater Creek should be a good candidate <br />because it is so isolated. Rick stated there are many good <br />reasons why Clearwater Creek Park is a good candidate. He noted <br />that the City would have to match the dollar amount to the grant <br />that is awarded. <br />Chris inquired about the range of the grant awards. Rick advised <br />the grant awards are unlimited this year. The City can ask for <br />as much as they can match. The City can also submit grants for <br />more than one project. <br />Chris inquired about the maximum amount of a grant award. Rick <br />advised there is no maximum. However, the grants are contingent <br />on the legislature. The deadline for the grant is March 31, <br />2001. The grants will be awarded in Jun 001. He also distributed the <br />Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Division Highlights <br />for the year 2000 and a list of the 2000 Program Offerings. He <br />stated Park Board members should call him with any questions. <br />RECREATION DEPARTMENT UPDATE: <br />Rick referred to the Program Highlights Flyer from December 2000. <br />He noted that the Breakfast with Santa & Secret Holiday Gift Shop <br />has 182 participants and 46 volunteers in attendance. <br />Approximately 100 children visited the Secret Holiday Gift Shop. <br />Rick noted that Snow Day, a collaborative special event with <br />Anoka County Parks and Recreation, is just around the corner. <br />Snow Day, a free family even devoted entirely to snow, winter and <br />6 <br />
