Local youth and
sports associations have expressed the need for more athletic
fields and improvements to the existing facilities. A
recreation complex would not only provide a nice facility for
youth and adult athletic teams, but it would also give
neighborhood parks back to the neighborhoods! It is also
anticipated that a significant portion of the referendum will be
used to expand community trails.
The Park Board is a group of residents who volunteer their time
to help improve the park system. For the past few years they
have been reviewing the park system and gathering public input
in preparing for a park referendum.
If you are interested in volunteering your time and effort in
pursuing a bond referendum, tentatively scheduled for June of
1998, please contact Rick DeGardner, Parks and Recreation
Director, at 780 -1885, Ext. 181.
sw /mw /sandies folder /rick /newletter referendum article.doc
