• walks. We signed our papers and construction was under
way.
A few months after we closed and moved in, we get a letter
from the city with "proposed" park plans and a note saying
that if we do not get a grant, the park will not be built. Now,
we are all anxiously awaiting the results of the grant
application this fall. My only concern is what will happen to
the land if we do not get the grant. I am hoping that the City
of Lino Lakes will find some money in the budget to put in a
smaller scale park so that the children in this neighborhood
will have someplace safe to run and play. I would think that
with all of the revenue being generated by the building
permits and new taxes they would find it for us and soon.
We are a growing community in an area with no parks within
a walking distance for the 500 + children who live here (this
is an estimated number, we have 260+ homes and I have
• figured at least 2 children per home. Than what will
become of the land and our home values when this area
becomes the garbage pit it already has become for the
builders in the area to leave there unused materials.
We as a community are willing to install playground
equipment so that our children will have a place to run and
play. A place where they can go with Grandma and Grandpa
when they come to visit. A place where a family can have a
picnic and play a game of touch football, soccer or softball. A
place to learn to skate in the winter. A place a child can
learn to play a team sport such as tee ball, softball, baseball,
soccer, football, and hockey. A place where they can learn to
