RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br />1. A district employee must be present at all times when school facilities are being used. That <br />employee is likely to be a community services site supervisor or a custodian. <br />2. A district employee must supervise any relocation of district -owned equipment or materials. <br />3. Groups shall not assign or transfer the right to use buildings. <br />4. Groups that are permitted to use district facilities must comply with all rules and regulations <br />regarding facilities as prescribed by school board policies. <br />5. When Centennial Schools are closed due to inclement weather or building emergencies, all <br />facility use permits are canceled. <br />6. All permits for facility use are revocable and should not be considered a lease. Although every <br />effort will be made to keep cancellations at a minimum, occasionally facility use permits for <br />scheduled community events must be canceled to accommodate unforeseen events or changes in <br />school functions. If a conflict occurs, every effort will be made to relocate the activity. <br />7. Permits are permitted for a specific area including only the nearest drinking fountain and <br />lavatories restroom. <br />8. Only equipment specified on the permit will be made available to the permit holder. <br />9. School facilities shall not be used for commercial activities designed primarily for their <br />advertising values, activities or sales for profit, public dances not sponsored by the schools or <br />community education, private social gatherings such as parties or family gatherings. <br />10. All Centennial facilities and grounds are a tobacco /drug /alcohol free environment. <br />11. Non - payment or late payment may result in the denial of future requests for facility use. <br />12. All activities will be limited to the purposes for which the facility was designed. <br />13. Rooms and areas used shall be left in an orderly condition and restored to the same condition as <br />prior to the community use. <br />14. Public pay phones are generally located in each secondary building near the front entrance, in the <br />senior high white building by the gym, and in the senior high red building near the pool. Access <br />to phones in the elementary buildings may be obtained by contacting the building custodian or <br />site supervisor, and should be limited to emergency use only. <br />15. Groups using Centennial facilities shall observe local and state ordinances and laws of the police <br />and fire departments. Exits, aisles and hallways must remain clear of any obstructions at all times. <br />Weapons and firearms are not allowed on school property except for authorized instructional <br />programs and/or law enforcement personnel. Flammable substances may not be used within <br />school buildings unless they meet state fire marshal regulations. <br />16. Soft -soled shoes must be worn on gym floors. <br />17. If district food or supplies are to be consumed, there must be prior approval, in writing, from the <br />district. Charges will include cost plus a 10 percent mark -up. <br />18. Permission to use the facilities by groups may be rejected or revoked by the district for any <br />reason. <br />19. A deposit may be required by the district. <br />20. Food or drink must be served and consumed in lunchrooms or other designated areas and must <br />appear on facility use form. Beverages /food are not allowed in gyms. Groups providing <br />beverages /food to participants /fans should notify their customers that beverages /food are not <br />allowed in gyms. Kitchen facilities, equipment and storage areas may be used only under the <br />direct supervision of Centennial Food Services personnel. <br />21. The contract holder must report facility or equipment breakage or repair needs to the site <br />supervisor or custodian and Centennial Community Services. Damage to district property must be <br />paid for by the contract holder or their insurance carrier. <br />22. In the event of a power outage, the building must be evacuated. <br />23. If a group requests chairs or equipment, those items will be made available by the custodian if <br />included on request. It is the renting organization's responsibility to help set up and leave the <br />facility in the same condition in which they found it, returning all furniture, equipment, etc., to its <br />7 <br />
