Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department
600 Town Center Parkway
Lino Lakes, MN 55014
(651) 982 -2440 Fax (651) 982 -2439
November 26, 2002
TO: Park Board Members
FROM: Mike Hoffman, Park Supervisor
SUBJECT: November Maintenance Update
Maintenance activity during November has included:
♦ Equipment maintenance and change over (from mowers to snow blowers).
♦ Leveling all hockey and pleasure rinks.
♦ Board repair to hockey rinks.
• Tree and Shrub pruning and removals at City Hall Park.
♦ Attended Pesticide Recertification Training.
• Inventoried and winterized wood duck houses. Removed pumping equipment, grouted well.
(contracted)
♦ Buckthorn removal in South Reshanau Lake Estates Park area. (Cut, chipped and chemically
treated stumps.)
In late October we were visited by an Ag Chemical Investigator from the Department of
Agriculture. She conducted and inspection of our facility to see if we are compliant with current
regulations. Overall, she said we do a good job with our pesticide program. There were a few
areas that we needed to address. They are:
1. Provide a written pesticide release response plan. (This has been completed.)
2. Store chemicals in a fireproof locker capable of containing all chemicals stored inside it.
(Storage locker has been ordered.)
3. Provide minimum double check valve when triple rinsing empty containers. (This has been
ordered.)
I expect to have numbers two and three completed by mid- December.
Those are Novembers highlights. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
sw /parkbrd/mike/November 2002 Park Board Update.doc
