Program Highlights - May Park Board Update <br />YOUTH <br />Options: Currently, 49 children are enrolled in this collaborative program between the Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation <br />Department, the YMCA and the Centennial School District. This is 18 more participants than last year. <br />Sensational Summer Adventures Day Camp: This new collaborative program with Anoka County will be held the week <br />of Aug 14 - 18 at Wargo Nature Center. On 05/22/00 this program reached its maximum of 40 participants. Participants, <br />ages 1st through 3rd grade, will enjoy four field trips, games, crafts and more. <br />Playground Program: A total of 114 children are currently enrolled in our summer playground program that will be held <br />at six sites: Inner Park, Lino Park, Sunrise Park, Birch Park, Country Lakes Park and Golden Lake Elementary. <br />Soccer Fundamentals: Our four daytime classes filled by the beginning of May. Because of this, we added two evening <br />classes that will each begin in July shortly after the conclusion of the daytime classes. <br />Tennis Lessons: 13 tennis lesson classes are being offered this summer with classes ranging from beginner to advanced. <br />•Tennis lessons are offered for individuals ages 5 -15 years old. To date, several classes are filled. <br />T -Ball: It was originally planned to offer 12 different T -Ball sessions. However, due to popularity and high demand, new <br />classes were added. We anticipate that over 300 children will participate in this program. <br />Golf Lessons:: Both youth and adult lessons are offered. Classes are held at Deer Meadows, <br />Shadow Ridge and Chomonix. Many of our classes are full and we anticipate filling more once <br />residents receive our summer brochure. <br />Safety Camp: Currently, 40 children are registered for this year's camp = scheduled for August 10. <br />ADULT <br />Softball_ We increased the number of teams this season by four - making a grand total of 54 teams. We had an <br />opportunity to increase this total, but chose not to schedule any more teams so that we could accommodate <br />the additional T -13a11 classes. <br />SPECIAL EVENTS <br />Kite Day: With assistance from the Lino Lakes Lions Club and Mountain Enterprises, we will once <br />this free program - scheduled for June 3.. At last year's event, 300 kites were handed out in 1 1/2 hou <br />similar number this year. <br />be offering <br />e anticipate a <br />arty Wagon: As of 5/23/00, 14 applications have been made to rent the Party Wagon.
