Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department <br />600 Town Center Parkway <br />Lino Lakes, MN 55014 <br />(651) 982 -2440 Fax (651) 982 -2439 <br />May 30, 2000 <br />TO: Park Board Members <br />FROM: Mike Hoffman, Parks Supervisor <br />SUBJECT: May Park Board Update <br />Maintenance activity during the month of May have included the following: <br />♦ Bleacher Assembly and Delivery <br />Four bleacher sets have been delivered and anchored to concrete pads at Sunrise Park Fields <br />#1 - #4. Additional sets will be delivered and anchored as they are completed. (1 set to Lino <br />Park, 2 sets to Rice Lake Elementary School, 2 sets to Centennial Middle School.) <br />• Planting of Bare Root Trees <br />A total of 45 trees were planted in city parks. Parks receiving trees were Sunrise (17), <br />Shenandoah (2), Rice Lake Estates (10), Pheasant Hills (3), Birch (2), Behm's Century Farm <br />(6), Wenzel Farms (3), and Arena Acres (2). <br />• Landscape Planting Along Marshan Trail (Marshan Park to Stagecoach Trail) <br />A buffer planting was installed between the new trail segment and the existing homes to the <br />north. The area was first sprayed with Roundup to kill existing vegetation; area was then <br />tilled and graded. Next, 15 bare root trees and 4 species of shrubs (totaling 70 shrubs) were <br />installed. Landscape fabric and 4 " -6 "of woodchip mulch was then added to finish the <br />proj ect. <br />♦ Daily Ballfield Preparation <br />Softball and baseball are underway with as many as 15 fields being game prepped on a daily <br />basis. (Infield drug, batter's boxes, pitching rubber, bases hand raked, foul lines and batter's <br />boxes chalked.) <br />♦ Layout and Painting of Soccer Fields <br />1 — U12 and up — Rice Lake North <br />2 — U12 and up — Centennial Middle School <br />1 — U10 — Sunrise Park <br />4 — U6 and U8 — Lino Park <br />• Roundup applied to Behm's Century Farm Park, Rice Lake Estates Park, and various other <br />park areas. <br />
