Also, there are design standards for each structure. For example, guidelines for the 2 -5 year old structure is to have steps in 6" increments and not have anything more than 48" above the ground. If these guidelines were used for the 6 — 10 year old structure, the play experience would be nominal. Mrs. Nelson's recommendations A number of Mrs. Nelson's recommendations regarding particular components. Vendors were given $27,000 to design playground structures that would provide a variety of play experiences. Adding a space shuttle, double slides, or a merry-go -round would result in other components being eliminated. Options can be discussed at the March 22 meeting.
