• <br />• <br />City of Lino Lakes <br />Park Board Meeting <br />February 7, 2000 <br />REVIEW MARSHAN PARK TRAIL BUFFERING: <br />Rick advised the trail segment connecting Marshan Park to Stage <br />Coach Trail was completed this past fall. Restoration consisted <br />of laying sod along the area adjacent to the south side of the <br />trail. <br />The Parks Department is planning on installing landscaping along <br />the northern side of this trail to provide a buffer for the five <br />adjoining homes. The plan calls for 15 Autumn Blaze Maple Trees <br />placed along the trail (1 '/," to 1 %" diameter) . Additional <br />shrubbery and bushes will also be placed along the north side of <br />the trail. <br />Rick referred to a memo sent to the adjoi=n_; -;ng property owners <br />explaining the landscaping plan in more dew l. All shrubbery <br />and bushes that will be installed will be .8" !o 24 ". Over 200 <br />people attended this event on January 22, 2000, at Wargo Nature <br />Center. <br />Rick noted the Parks and Recreation Department is now seeking <br />energetic, enthusiastic and caring individuals to fill a variety <br />of summer positions. <br />Paul asked if the City would be involved with the YMCA in regard <br />to youth activities. Rick advised a Programming Committee has <br />been developed for the YMCA. He stated he is a liaison for the <br />committee. He anticipates opportunities for cooperative efforts <br />regarding teen activities. There will also be a teen center <br />within the YMCA. <br />3 <br />
