• <br />• <br />City of Lino Lakes <br />Park Board Meeting <br />February 7, 2000 <br />PARKS DEPARTMENT UPDATE: <br />Rick reviewed a memo from Mike Hoffman, Park Supervisor, which <br />summarizes the maintenance highlights for January 2000. <br />Rick noted the primary maintenance activities for January have <br />focused primarily on skating rinks and warming houses. <br />Other maintenance activities during January included: equipment <br />maintenance and cleaning, chipping of Christmas trees at Birch <br />Park and Sunrise Park for a total of 222 trees, and dead or <br />hazard tree removal at various park locations. <br />Chris asked about the attendance at the rinks. Rick advised <br />attendance has been average. The skatin eason has been short <br />due to the weather. The motion <br />passed. <br />Staff distributed a letter from Chair Lindy that will be <br />presented to the Council regarding Park Board needs. He stated <br />it is important to impress upon the Council the need for <br />additional funding. He stated it would be beneficial to have <br />Park Board members present. <br />Acting Chair Huelman stated someone should also address the <br />Council regarding the trail situation and other park needs. <br />Paul stated residents should also be talking to the Council about <br />park needs. The Park Board is an advisory group to the Council. <br />It is the Park Board's duty to present park needs to the Council. <br />4 <br />
