• • City of Lino Lakes Park Board Meeting February 7, 2000 PARKS DEPARTMENT UPDATE: Rick reviewed a memo from Mike Hoffman, Park Supervisor, which summarizes the maintenance highlights for January 2000. Rick noted the primary maintenance activities for January have focused primarily on skating rinks and warming houses. Other maintenance activities during January included: equipment maintenance and cleaning, chipping of Christmas trees at Birch Park and Sunrise Park for a total of 222 trees, and dead or hazard tree removal at various park locations. Chris asked about the attendance at the rinks. Rick advised attendance has been average. The skatin eason has been short due to the weather. A report will be give t the end of the season. Staff distributed a letter from Chair Lindy that will be presented to the Council regarding Park Board needs. He stated it is important to impress upon the Council the need for additional funding. He stated it would be beneficial to have Park Board members present. Acting Chair Huelman stated someone should also address the Council regarding the trail situation and other park needs. Paul stated residents should also be talking to the Council about park needs. The Park Board is an advisory group to the Council. It is the Park Board's duty to present park needs to the Council. 4
