City of Lino Lakes <br />Park Board Meeting <br />February 7, 2000 <br />Acting Chair Huelman also suggested Mr. Gary Uhde address the <br />Council about the process of selling parkland to obtain <br />additional park funding. <br />Chair Lindy stated the Council work session is not the forum for <br />a lengthy discussion regarding park needs. A special meeting <br />with the Council should be requested and developers should be <br />present. A bond referendum should also be looked at. The trail <br />maintenance issue is the big issue. <br />Paul stated the two issues include a referendum and funding of <br />ongoing maintenance of the City's trails. Pam agreed the City <br />must focus on trails. <br />Rick advised the purpose of the Council wo , session is to <br />discuss Park Board expenditures and goals. enue sources could <br />be discussed. He stated the <br />survey is for informational purposes and a point of comparison. <br />Paul asked what the park dedication fee is for commercial <br />development. Rick advised the park fee is $265 per 1,000 square <br />feet. Most communities have a fee per acres. The City's park <br />fee relating to commercial development is well below the 10% fee <br />for residential development. He advised discussions will be held <br />in the near future with the City Planner regarding the City's <br />park dedication fee. A recommendation will be made to the Park <br />Board. <br />5 <br />
