Program Highlights - January Park Board Update
YOUTH
Dance: Winter classes are in full swing. We have a new instructor this season and so far the
classes have been going very well.
Floor Hockey Mini Camp: We started a new class this season for 7-8 year olds. It has not proven
as popular as the 4-6 year old class, but attendance has been strong.
Toss, Kick, and Catch: This program is going well. Due to low enrollment, we are only offering one
class this season.
Snack and Skate: We have approximately 4-0 chidren registered in this program. So for this year,
the weather has been very cooperative. On February 26, we will conclude the program with a
skating party at Centennial Sports Arena.
Hockey Skills Development- Seven children are registered in this program. Participants receive a
jersey and a medal.
Martial Arts: Registration levels are where we expected. There is a large following of participants
who enjoy this instructor.
• Baskets "Have a Ball ": This program has been very popular in the past. Registration is less this
season, but still very strong.
Family Open Gym: This program is more popular than ever. Weekly attendance figures have been in
the twenties.
YOUTH TRIPS AND ACTIVITIES
Ski Trips: Our first three ski trips have been great successes. Attendance numbers are as follows.
Wild Mountain on Dec. 28 - 23 participants, Wild Mountain on Jan. 17 - 50 participants, Afton
Alps on Jan. 24 - 24 participants.
CLUB: Our cooperative trips with Blaine Parks and Recreation Department and Centennial
Community Services have been going well.
