Listed below <br />is a summary of participation numbers for 1999. <br />Youth Instructional (ie. Playgrounds, Dance, T -ball, Karate) 1488 <br />Adult Instructional (ie. Aerobics, Golf) 320 <br />Parent /Child Programs (ie. Toss, Kick & Catch) 205 <br />Trips (ie. Wild Away For A Day, Ski Trips) 272 <br />Special Events (ie. Turkey Shoot, Breakfast with Santa) 360 <br />Adult Sports (ie. Softball, Basketball, Indoor Soccer) 128 teams <br />A list of programs for 1999 is attached. <br />• Revised the summer playground program. Theme weeks provided participants with opportunities to <br />learn and experience new activities that focus on teamwork, cooperation, creativity, and fun - 211 <br />participants <br />♦ Fall Soccer - 575 participants on 50 teams <br />♦ Soccer Fundamentals - 100 participants <br />♦ Adult Softball - 83 teams <br />♦ Youth Dance - 131 participants <br />• Acquired inflatable arch bounce for Special Events and Playground program <br />Special Events <br />♦ Kite Day - 225 kids <br />♦ Safety Camp - 110 participants <br />♦ Family Turkey Shoot - 118 parent /child teams <br />♦ Breakfast With Santa - 188 registrations <br />♦ Letters From Santa - 140 letters <br />♦ Holiday Lighting Contest - 13 <br />♦ Performances in the Park - 7 concerts held at Sunrise Park <br />Party Wagon <br />• The department worked with the Circle -Lex Lions Club to provide a 8x20 foot Party Wagon for <br />community use. The purpose is to encourage neighborhood residents to organize block parties to <br />provide an opportunity for people to get to know their neighbors. The Party Wagon is equipped with a <br />variety of equipment including chairs, tables, coolers, croquet sets, bocce ball, horseshoes, frisbee <br />golf, a parachute, footballs, soccer balls, sidewalk chalk, hula hoops, volleyball set, badminton set, <br />and much more. There is no fee to reserve the Party Wagon for a neighborhood block party. <br />Individual events such as a graduation party or family reunion can reserve the Party Wagon for a <br />nominal fee. <br />
