•
•
City of Lino Lakes
Park Board Meeting
November 1, 1999
The November 1, 1999 City of Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was
called to order at 6:30pm, by Chair Lindy.
Roll call was taken, members present were Pam Taschuk, Jeff
Reinert, Joe Boyle, Chris Welsand, and George Lindy. Members
absent were Paul Montain and Pat Huelman.
Also present were Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director,
Sandie Wood, Office Manager.
APPROVAL OF OCTOBER 4, 1999 MINUTES:
Pam Taschuk made a motion, seconded by Chris Welsand, to approve
the October 4, 1999 minutes. The minutes were approved.
SETTING THE AGENDA:
The agenda was passed as presented.
OPEN MIKE:
No one was present for open mike.
REVIEW REVISED HIGHLAND MEADOWS PRELIMINARY PLAT:
Rick advised the developer of the Highland Meadows development is
amending the approved preliminary plat. Therefore, the revised
plat must be reviewed.
The new preliminary plat contains 50.85 acres of land consisting
of 77 single family detached units and 52 single family attached
townhouse units. The issues related to parks and trails are as
follows:
1. The original plat provided an east /west trail connection
from Marilyn Drive to the Mardon Acres Development. A 1.8
acre park was also located near this trail segment. This is
located near the power line easement. The revised concept
eliminates the mini park, which staff concurs. The Park
Board may want to consider requiring only a 15' wide park
property for this trail segment rather than the entire
depicted area.
2. The trail connection from Marilyn Court to Main Street
still exists. However, there is a slight change in
location, which staff supports.
3. The park area has been reduced from 5.2 acres to 4.01
acres. The park access has also been changed. It's
important to ensure that adequate access to the park
1
