•
•
City of Lino Lakes
Park Board Meeting
November 1, 1999
area is provided. The park area is directly related to
the proposed Bluebill Ponds Development. It is
imperative that as these two projects continue through
the process that the proposed park areas are analyzed
together to ensure the future neighborhood park will be
functional. It is staff's understanding that road
locations may be modified as the Highland Meadows and
Bluebill Ponds platting process continues. This may
alter the shape and size of the proposed park area.
Chair Lindy asked why there is an Outlot D on the revised plat.
Ms. Shari Ahrens, Engineer for TSM Development, came forward and
stated that property is currently in litigation. The developer
hopes to acquire that property and reserve it for future
development.
Rick advised that the road may be reconfigured so the plat may
change again. He stated he concurs with the two trail
connections and thinks Outlot C is a good area for the park. As
development occurs, the City should look at purchasing additional
park property.
Chair Lindy asked why the park size has been reduced. Rick
advised the developer does not have control of the property to
the north. Because of that, the location of the street is
unknown. The developer has not yet platted Outlot D. The City
can however, begin discussions with the developer regarding the
purchase of additional park land.
Jeff stated it is difficult to make a decision without knowing
about the property that is in litigation. Rick advised that with
the present plat, the City is at the 10% land dedication
requirement.
Chair Lindy noted the proposed Comprehensive Plan recommends a 10
acre park in this area.
Pam Taschuk made a motion, seconded by Joe Boyle, to accept
Outlot C as part of park dedication with the understanding that
staff will pursue obtaining additional land as indicated in the
Comprehensive Park Plan. Motion carried unanimously.
Jeff Reinert made a motion, seconded by Chris Welsand, to allow a
• 15' wide trail in Outlot A and leaving Outlot I as noted. Motion
carried unanimously.
2
