• City of Lino Lakes Park Board Meeting November 1, 1999 OLD BUSINESS: Potential Park Area in Clearwater Creek Development Center - Rick noted that at the October Park Board meeting, Park Board members directed staff to discuss the potential park land acquisition with the developer of the Clearwater Creek Development Center. The developer indicated an assumption that the City would purchase the proposed 4.7 acres of land for market value which is approximately $40,000 per acre. Rick advised that he expressed the City is not able to afford market prices for this parcel of land but would be interested in working with the developer in providing current and future park dedication credit. This was not acceptable. Therefore, it appears the potential park in this area is a dead issue. Property for Athletic Complex Purchase - Rick advised that on October 25, 1999, the City Council approved the purchase of 67 acres located at the southeast corner of Centerville Road and Birch Street, for a future athletic complex. • Jeff asked if the land can be used for anything but an athletic complex. Rick advised Council directed staff to begin the process of amending the Comprehensive Plan to zone the area public /semi - public. NEW BUSINESS: 2000 Park Board Meeting Schedule - Review and Adopt - Rick distributed a schedule of proposed Park Board meetings for 2000. He noted that January 3, 2000, is a City holiday. Therefore, he recommended the January meeting to be schedule for Tuesday, January 4, 2000. He stated he would also like to schedule a Goal Setting meeting immediately following the January Park Board meeting. The first Monday in September is Labor Day. Rick suggested a meeting be scheduled for Tuesday, September 5, 2000. Perhaps, since the agenda is normally light in September, this meeting can be designated as a park tour and BBQ. Chair Lindy stated there may be a problem with the July 3, 2000, meeting. Many people may be out of town. •
