• <br />City of Lino Lakes <br />Park Board Meeting <br />November 1, 1999 <br />Chris asked if there are any fees associated with the rinks. Rick <br />advised there are no fees involved. <br />RECREATION DEPARTMENT UPDATE: <br />Rick referred to the Program Highlights Flyer from October, 1999. <br />He noted the Floor Hockey Mini Camp is a new class for 4 -6 year <br />olds and is doing well. All 20 spots are filled and parents have <br />inquired about additional classes. Additional classes will be <br />offered this winter and spring for 7 -8 year olds. <br />Rick stated the Fall Soccer programs is a big kick with the <br />participants. There are approximately 575 participants this year <br />on 50 teams. The number of participants has grown about 225 <br />from last season. <br />Rick referred to the Program Highlights Special Feature that <br />notes the special activities being planned. The special <br />activities include the Family Turkey Shoot, Breakfast with Santa, <br />Secret Holiday Shop, Letters from Santa, and Snow Day. <br />• Rick noted that volunteers are needed for all special events. <br />Anyone interested can contact Liz at 651- 982 -2440. <br />• <br />PARKS DEPARTMENT UPDATE: <br />Rick reviewed a memo from Mike Hoffman, Park Supervisor, which <br />summarizes the maintenance highlights for October, 1999. <br />Rick noted that three trail segments (Marshan, Aqua Lane, and Fox <br />Trace) have received restoration work along the edge of the <br />trail. <br />Improvements to Lino Park include park sign landscaping and a new <br />bituminous parking lot. <br />Sunrise Fields #1 and #2 have been improved and Maintenance staff <br />has made additional cutouts for the upcoming Turkey Shoot. <br />Trails have been inspected and the playground equipment has been <br />installed at Behm's Century Farm Park. <br />Chair Lindy asked about the funding for the new parking lot at <br />Lino Park. Rick advised the new parking lot was included in the <br />Lake Drive improvements. <br />5 <br />
