Program Nighlighrs October Park Board Update Youth Programs Dance - Due to the popularity of our dance program, we are offering 7 classes this fall. A combined total of over 60 children are currently registered in the 7 classes. Floor Hockey Mini Camp - This new class for 4 -6 year olds is doing well. All 20 spots are filled and parents have inquired about additional classes. We will be offering an additional class this winter and spring for 7 -8 year olds. Toss, Kick and Catch - A small number of participants are enrolled in this parent /child sport development program. However, parents really seem to enjoy the skills that they learn and the one -on -one play time with their child. Fall Soccer - This program is a big kick with the participants. This year we have approximately 575 participants on 50 teams. The number of participants has grown about 225 from last season. Adult Programs Fall Softball - The fall softball season concluded in September. 31 teams participated in this five -week season. We had a combined total of 85 softball teams this summer and fall - an increase from last year. 3- Player Basketball - 13 teams are registered for this program - the maximum number we can accommodate. Adult Co -Rec Volleyball - This program will not be conducted as planned. For the first time since it was originally offered, we did not receive sufficient registration to conduct this program. The winter volleyball season is currently being advertised. Martial Arts - This program has a steady number of participants. Participants have commented on how well they like the instructor. Fitness - We introduced a season pass for our aerobic fitness classes. The response seems to be very positive. 5- Player Basketball - We are currently accepting registrations for this program. It is anticipated to have 12 teams register in this program. Department Information We are actively and aggressively pursuing employees to fill our warminghouse and other r winter employee vacancies. It is anticipated to fill these positions by Thanksgiving. We are currently working on our winter seasonal activities guide. This publication is scheduled to be in homes the last week in November.
