CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION NOVEMBER 5, 1997 <br />Extension of Apollo Drive to Lake Drive - Staff is preparing a proposal to relocated two <br />(2) property owners in the area affected by the Apollo Drive extension project. <br />Council suggested that staff implement a process for keeping all the homeowners updated <br />regarding what is happening in this area. <br />PUBLIC FACILITIES UPDATE, BRIAN WESSEL <br />Staff presented a list of issues that need to be resolved in order to get the public facilities <br />under construction and completed in the summer of 1998. The most important issue is to <br />get title to the property that the City will receive in the land exchange deal with Anoka <br />County and the Metropolitan Council. The public facilities will be located on this <br />property. <br />The second most important issue will be to hire a project manager. Mr. Wessel has <br />received proposals for project manager from several companies. <br />Council will select a project manager at the next work session. <br />DISCUSSION OF SIGN ORDINANCE AS IT RELAT <br />CAMPAIGN SIGNS, MARILYN ANDERSON <br />The posting of campaign signs has beco <br />ordinance is nearly impossible. The council will direct <br />their proposals to e Planning and Zoning Board. <br />AMERICAN LEGION CLUB (LEGION CLUB)UPDATE, RANDY <br />SCHUMACHER <br />The Legion Club has been searching in Lino Lakes for a new location for their Club. <br />Their first location was unsuitable because a church is located within 1000 feet of the <br />building they wanted to purchase. A second location was selected. Since this location is <br />across the street from the prison, it too was unsuitable. <br />Council Member Kuether explained that the seller of this property is unhappy about how <br />the City handled the matter and has asked for reimbursement. Staff was directed to <br />prepare a reimbursement of the fees. Staff was also directed to obtain the advice of the <br />City Attorney if the seller wants reimbursement of additional costs. <br />PAGE 4 <br />
