•
City of Lino Lakes
Park Board Meeting
August 2, 1999
The August 2, 1999 City of Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was
called to order at 6:30pm, by Acting Chair Huelman.
Roll call was taken, members present were Pat Huelman, Pam
Taschuk, Jeff Reinert, Joe Boyle, and Paul Montain. Members
absent were Chris Welsand and George Lindy.
Also present were Berry Bernstein, Recreation Program Supervisor,
Sandie Wood, Office Manager, and John Powell, City Engineer.
APPROVAL OF July 6, 1999 MINUTES:
Pam Taschuk made a motion, seconded by Jeff Reinert, to approve
the July 6, 1999 minutes. The minutes were approved.
SETTING THE AGENDA:
The Agenda was passed as presented.
OPEN MIKE:
No one was present for open mike.
REVIEW POTENTIAL PARK AREA IN CLEARWATER CREEK DEVELOPMENT
CENTER:
•John stated there is potential for the City to acquire park land
in the Clearwater Creek Development Center. This park area may
permit us to design an active play area, such as soccer or
baseball, to serve present and future residents in the Clearwater
Creek Developments. If this scenario becomes a reality, the need
for an athletic field in the recently acquired 5.5 park area in
the Clearwater Creek Third Addition may not be necessary.
•
John advised that the property owner has proposed a parcel of
land as park dedication. The owner has determined the parcel is
not developable and he has asked that he maintain a developable
site. John referred to a map and pointed out the proposed park
property dedication.
John indicated the convenience of that property would be that the
site will be graded at no charge. The area is approximately 4.7
acres. John referred to two concept plans. The first plan
contained a soccer field and a parking area. The second concept
contained a softball field and a parking area also.
John stated he would like reaction from the Park Board regarding
the usability of the area as park land. He stated he will ask
the developer to pursue this option if the Park Board is in
agreement.
1
