COUNCIL WORK SESSION MAY 21, 1997 <br />Council Member Lyden asked that five (5) feet be added to the lot widths in the R -1 and <br />R-1X zones to allow the parking of recreational vehicles in back yards. Ms. Wyland <br />explained that the Planning and Zoning Board did not pursue this issue. Staff suggested <br />that the draft Zoning Ordinance be adopted as presented and then pursue this change <br />along with other changes the staff may have at the time the Comprehensive Plan is <br />approved. <br />Staff noted that many of the amendments to the Zoning Ordinance refer to the format <br />only. <br />CONSIDER ORDINANCE NO. 13 - 97, AMENDING THE LINO LAKES CITY <br />CODE BY AMENDMENT TO SECTION 401.01, CONNECTION TO <br />MUNICIPAL WATER AND CONSIDER ORDINANCE NO. 14 - 97, <br />AMENDMENT TO SECTION 402.02, CONNECTION TO SANITARY SEWER, <br />DAVE AHRENS <br />This matter was discussed with Council last fall. The result is two ( T „' . ' d <br />ordinances to amend the current ordinances that require when e co cted to <br />sanitary sewer, it also must connect to municipal water if t i :able and if <br />the home is connected to municipal water, the home t o to sanitary sewer <br />if that service is available. <br />The two (2) proposed ordinances eli • e "8 ent to connect to both services if <br />they are available. <br />Council discussed the <br />both services in <br />end of seven (7) <br />required for this <br />gger that would require a home to be connected to <br />sug tion to require connection to the second service at the <br />oposed. Staff noted there would be extra bookkeeping <br />Council directed staff to determine what the financial impact of the two (2) new <br />ordinances would be and bring this information back to the Council at the next work <br />session. <br />Miller's South Glen - Staff was asked if the approval of the preliminary plat for this <br />subdivision included language regarding upgrading Ware Road. Staff explained that the <br />Council motion for approval was not the same as the motion by the Planning and Zoning <br />Board. The Council motion did not include the Ware Road upgrade language however, <br />Council previously committed to the upgrade of Ware Road even if the benefiting <br />homeowners petition against the assessment. Council Member Kuether said that she was <br />uncomfortable with using all of the MSA funds for Ware Road. <br />PAGE 4 <br />
