I am very
sorry, that I didn't get this to you earlier - I forgot you weren't on my e -mail
list & I needed to send you a hard copy.
This very long memo is being sent directly to everyone who is on my list as a
WUI LUG project work group member AND is CC'd to everyone on the list as a
"consultant" to the project, plus a couple other managers.
This memo contains attachments & instructions which need your attention before
the next WUI LUG work group meeting on Thursday, May 25, 1 -3:30 pm. I strongly
suggest you import each attachment into Word Perfect (or the equivalent) before
you try opening or printing it. If any of you have any problems with any of
these attachments let me or Peggy Gabriel know & we can get you a hard copy.
1. Work Group Member /Consultant List
This attachment (LUG_wkgl.wpd) is a 3 -page table of this list of people, please
check it to make sure your #s etc are correct. Also, please let me know ASAP if
any names should be changed or added. Currently, everyone except Marty Asleson
is accessible by e -mail.
2. Work Assignment Matrix
This attachment (LUG_ work_matrix.wpd) is the 1 -page table we worked on at the
last meeting with all the names people filled in. A few folks (Suzann, Sharon,
Bart, & Rick D from Lino) are listed in [brackets) because their names were
suggested at the last meeting, but they were not there. Please note, I am still
looking for volunteers to be the point people where no names exist on the
matrix. Each of you should be working this month on your assigned areas as
reflected on this matrix and the "Primary Activities & Products of the
Project /Schedule" (sent out by e-mail on 4/19 & handed out at the 4/20 meeting).
Please let me know ASAP if I have you listed correctly on the matrix or if you
have any questions about what your duties are.
3. Natural Resource Documents List
Thanks to Meredith who has developed a format & made an excellent start at a
list of documents which provide useful sample language and ideas for local units
developing policies, reg's, plans, etc. Meredith has it organized into 6
categories of documents:
* comprehensive plans /policies
* native landscaping ordinances ...
* sustainable development ordinances
* landscaping ordinances
* management plans
* natural resource inventories
We are open to adding new categories as needed. So far, Meredith has put in the
table information on about 18 documents including: the reference's biographical
citation; the location for which it was developed (typically a city); a contact
person, organization, and phone number; and a comments section which describes
what the document includes that is particularly useful related to natural
resource management.
This third attachment (NR_doc_examples.wpd) is a table that so far is about 5
pages long. Each of you are requested to find additional documents we should
add to the list and provide (either electronically or hard copy) complete
