•
•
•
AGENDA ITEM
STAFF ORIGINATOR: Marty Asleson
DATE: 5/22/98
TOPIC: Lino Lakes Commercial Development
BACKGROUND:
Please find attached information that is available on the Lino Lakes Commercial
Development. Interstate 35W, Lake Drive and 77 Th Street bound this
commercial development.
At this time we are looking for general comments from the Environmental Board
concerning environmental preservation, and restoration. The forested and
wetland areas are indicated on the enclosed map.
The zoning ordinance requirement is 25% for un- surfaced areas.
No preliminary restoration and /or landscape plan exists at this time.
No surface water management plan has been developed yet.
OPTIONS:
1. Implement tree preservation practices including moving trees from site that
may be saved by tree spading, stockpiling, and moving back on to site.
2. Promote infiltration as much as possible.
3. Use native materials from upland to wetland, and landscaping consistent
with Village Town Center design (More informal and integrated where
necessary.)
4. Other
RECOMMENDATION:
1. Tree preservation plan should be developed with the grading plan.
2. Incorporate infiltration methodology as similar to civic center.
3. Incorporate similar landscaping and restoration practices.
4. Other recommendations generated by the Environmental Board
