Lectures, group <br />feedback and case studies teach important concepts <br />you'll be able to use in your future projects. <br />You'll have the opportunity for one -on -one and group <br />discussion with others who share your concerns and <br />problems. <br />You'll receive practical materials to use during the <br />seminar that will serve as a valuable reference guide <br />you'll use again and again. <br />Meet your instructors <br />Steven Apfelbaum is one of the leading research and <br />consulting ecologists in the U.S. involved with ecosystem <br />restoration. Founder and owner of Applied Ecological <br />Services, Brodhead, Wisconsin, a pioneering restoration <br />consulting and contracting firm, Apfelbaum has over <br />20 years experience in ecological research, design and <br />implementation. A frequent keynote speaker at ecological <br />seminars, Apfelbaum is recognized nationally as an <br />expert in wetland creation and <br />restoration, and has been <br />published extensively on the <br />restoration of wetlands, <br />prairies, oak savannas and <br />woodland systems. He eamed <br />a master's degree/in ecological <br />science from the University <br />of Illinois at Urbana. <br />William Young <br />William Young is manager of restoration projects with <br />The Dawson Corporation, a design -build landscape <br />restoration contracting fum located in Clarksburg, New <br />Jersey. A registered landscape architect, he specializes <br />in ecosystems restoration. Bill earned a B.S. in <br />environmental science/landscape architecture from <br />SUNY College of Forestry and an M.S. in urban design <br />from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. He has lectured <br />at various conferences including the Harvard Graduate <br />School of Design Manufactured Sites Conference and <br />the National Arbor Day Foundation's National <br />Conference on The Practice of Restoring Native <br />Ecosystems.
