I must first note. this is a large and unusual • <br />Project for various reasons. Reed Canary i9 an exotic..grass used for forage. It is a.prol.ific.seed <br />producer and.re- grows vigorously from its roots, even after multiple <br />herbicide treatment. Generally, as : was in' this project, it grows in wetlands <br />that range from seasonally wet to Year round saturation. As you. would <br />'expect due to its high forage .characteristics; Recd. leaves a .. ..: . <br />significant amount of residual materials that needs to'be dealt. With before: <br />planting. seed: <br />A prescribed burn is by far the most desired method tor removal of residual <br />plant material.
