b. Describe any of the following site hazards to ground water and also identify them
on the site map: sinkholes, shallow limestone formations /karst conditions, soils with
high infiltration rates, abandoned or unused wells. Describe measures to avoid or
minimize environmental problems due to and of these hazards.
The final site will largely be covered with buildings and parking surface, with storm
water being directed to retention ponds and a bio- filtration basin. Infiltration will
therefore be less than under existing conditions.
c. Solid Waste: Hazardous Wastes: Storage Tanks:
a. Describe the types, amounts, and compositions of solid or hazardous wastes
to be generated, including animal manure, sludge and ashes. Identify the method
and location of disposal. For projects generating municipal solid waste indicate if
there will be a source separation plan, list types (s) and how the project will be
modified to allow recycling.
Only municipal solid waste (MSW) will be generated by the retail activity. Any recycling
will be undertaken by individual tenants of the development. Target has an aggressive
program to reduce waste and promote recycling. The store will have one 42 cubic yard
internally loaded compactor and a corrugated materials baler for paper recycling. The
store is expected to generate 32,000 — 64,000 lbs. of trash per month and 18,000 lbs. of
recyclable corrugated material per week.
Method of disposal to be provided by City? Or Contracted ? ?? City provide answer
There are no municipal solid waste landfills operating in Anoka County, thus the location
of a disposal facility is in .
