CITY OF <br />LINO LAS <br />U <br />Metropolitan Water Management Program Purpose <br />The purposes of the water management programs according to <br />State law Sections 103B.205 to 103B.255 are to: <br />(1) protect, preserve, and use natural surface and groundwater <br />storage and retention systems; <br />(2) minimize- public capital expenditures needed to correct <br />flooding -and water quality problems; <br />(3) identify and plan for means to effectively protect and <br />improve surface and groundwater quality; <br />(4) establish more uniform local policies and official controls <br />for surface and groundwater management; <br />(5) prevent erosion of soil into surface water systems; <br />(6) promote groundwater recharge; <br />(7) protect and enhance fish and wildlife habitat and water <br />recreational facilities; and <br />(8) secure the other benefits associated with the proper <br />management of surface and groundwater. <br />10/24/94 <br />Background <br />I <br />City Description <br />Location <br />The City of Lino Lakes is located in the southeast corner of Anoka <br />County. It is bounded to the west by Blaine and Circle Pines, to <br />the north by Columbus Township, to the east by Hugo, and to the <br />south by Shoreview, White Bear Township, and North Oaks. The <br />major north /south highways are State Highway 49 and County <br />Road 23 to the west, and Interstate 35E on the east. County Road <br />32 (or Ramsey County Road j) is the southern boundary.
