Gather information concerning the condition and trends in the quality of the <br />environment, both current and prospective, with the purpose of determining whether <br />or not such conditions and trends are likely to interfere with the goals of the City. <br />12. Report not less than once each year to the council on the state and condition of the <br />environment in the city and on the work of the board. <br />13. Make and furnish such studies or reports thereon and recommendations with respect <br />to matters of policy and legislation as the council may request. <br />14. Act as liaison between the council and people or organizations that wish to carry out <br />natural resource enhancement projects. <br />15. Work with the county on the management of County Park space within the city. <br />16. Make recommendations to the City Council on issues concerning solid waste and <br />recycling. <br />Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities <br />1. Ability to read and understand maps and technical reports. <br />2. Knowledge of City policies and ordinance related to environmental issues. <br />3. Ability to communicate clearly and tactfully with fellow board members and the <br />public. <br />4. Knowledge of budget and financing principals. <br />Required Qualifications <br />1. Resident of Lino Lakes. <br />2. Availability to attend regularly scheduled meetings of the Environmental Board. <br />Desired Qualifications <br />1 Education or training in environmentally related disciplines such as environmental <br />planning, water management, wildlife habitat, plant communities, soils, or other <br />areas. <br />2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. <br />3. Previous work or volunteer experience on environmental projects. <br />
