ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD MEETING JUNE 26, 2002 <br />• O'Connell asked about the buffer requirements for the backyards with wetlands. <br />Grundhofer responded that perhaps the buffer should be increased to 100 feet. <br />• <br />Asleson answered you try to establish a wider buffer in valuable wetlands. If the <br />buffer was 50 feet, there would be no backyards. Chair Kukonen added that the <br />rule of thumb was 10 feet and any applicable addition. <br />Grundhofer suggested increasing the buffer to 15 -20 feet. <br />Donlin stated they were going to have problems with wet yards. Asleson agreed <br />that the soils were going to be wet and mushy most of the time. <br />Grundhofer noted that staff had made a stateme t " :soils should be imported <br />or exported.
