• <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 03- <br />RESOLUTION Supporting Anoka County Metro Greenways Land Acquisition <br />WHEREAS, The City of Lino Lakes contains numerous and unique natural resources <br />AND WHEREAS, The greenways provide for the preservation of natural resources and linkages for plant, <br />animal, and human connections, <br />AND WHEREAS, The City of Lino Lakes desires to preserve the environmental qualities of the Rice <br />Creek Corridor and the water that flows from this creek into the Rice Creek Chain of Lakes; <br />AND WHEREAS, Creating this greenway will provide buffers and ponding areas adjacent to the creek to <br />allow for protection of our water resource; <br />AND WHEREAS, The Clearwater Creek Greenway would provide a means to restore, and maintain <br />present unique biologic diversity in the animal and plant community along the greenway; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, <br />MINNESOTA: That the Anoka County Greenway proposal to purchase land along Rice Creek be <br />supported, in that this plan will provide for protection of natural resources in Lino Lakes, and provide for <br />future access to resources to residents and wildlife for years to come. . <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this day of , 2003 <br />Ann Blair, Clerk- Treasurer <br />Mayor John Bergeson <br />
