Tetra Tech EM Inc. <br />11300 Rupp Drive, Suite 100 ♦ Burnsville, MN 55337 • (952) 736 -2770 • Fax (952) 736 -2774 <br />July 29, 2003 <br />Mr. Marty Asleson <br />Environmental Specialist <br />City of Lino Lakes <br />600 Town Center Parkway <br />Lino Lakes, Minnesota 55014 <br />Subject: Rare Plant Survey <br />Marshan Lake Industrial Park <br />Lino Lakes, Minnesota <br />1" [EMI Project Number S1290.001 <br />Dear Mr. Asleson: <br />The following is a summary of the rare plant survey conducted on the Marshan Lake Industrial <br />Park proposed development site in Lino Lakes on July 17th, 2003, by Tetra Tech EM Inc. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Tetra Tech EM Inc. was retained by the City of Lino Lakes to conduct a survey for rare plant <br />species within the Marshan Lake Business Park proposed development site in Lino Lakes. The <br />36 -acre proposed development site is located in the western half of Section 17 of Township 31N, <br />Range 22W in Lino Lakes, Minnesota. The site is bounded by Interstate 35W to the north, Lake <br />Drive and residential and commercial properties to the east and south, and Centennial Middle <br />School to the west (Figure 1). Mr. Jason Husveth, Ecologist with Tetra Tech EM Inc., surveyed <br />the site with Mr. Marty Asleson, Lino Lakes Environmental Specialist, on Thursday July 17t, <br />2003. <br />METHODS <br />Prior to conducting the on -site survey, Mr. Husveth and Mr. Asleson reviewed recent aerial <br />photographs, the Anoka County digital soil survey, hydrologic information, and land cover data <br />to assess the most likely areas that rare species "of interest might inhabit within the proposed <br />development site In addition, Mr. Asleson and Mr. Husveth reviewed the location and site <br />characteristics of a nearby lance leaved violet population they discovered in 2002 at the adjacent <br />Lino Lakes Elementary School Property (approximately U.4 miles to the southwest). <br />C, 'contains recycled fiber and is recyclable <br />
