• <br />Minnesota Land Cover Classification (MLCCS)- The MLCCS defines the <br />predominant land cover as Palustrine open water, with some Boxelder -Green <br />ash disturbed native forest. Although the trees on the West side of the <br />proposal are of lower quality, they have become significant to bordering <br />residents, and for the area since a virtual clear -cut of trees occurred in the <br />recent past. There are no rare -plant community indicators on the site. <br />Surface water <br />There are no wetland fill areas shown. The entire existing pond area will be <br />filled in and new ponds created (see grading plan). The site is located in a <br />Marshan Lake subwatershed. There are no Lake Protection, Shoreland <br />Management, or High Priority Protection Zones on this site. There are no <br />flood plain areas on the site. There are no existing wetland areas on the site. <br />Storm water is proposed for treatment with two new ponds constructed in <br />areas that minimize any further tree loss. Application has been made to Rice <br />Creek Watershed for review. There is no further information on this at this <br />time. <br />Wildlife <br />The Blandings turtle model does not indicate any breeding or activity areas on <br />or near this site. There is no other known unique wildlife considerations on <br />this site. <br />Soils <br />Compaction protection (fence) is recommended on all areas not associated <br />with construction. NPDES standards need to be applied throughout the <br />process. Suggest additional gravel stockpile be available for when the rock <br />construction entrance fills in. No imported or exported soils should be <br />allowed without City approval. <br />Boulevard Trees <br />As with all previous developments, recommend one boulevard tree per <br />frontage, escrowed as part of the Development agreement. <br />Landscaping <br />The City has not received a landscape plan, other than developer proposed <br />Seed specifications; Recommend the developer submit a landscape plan to <br />include some foundation plantings for proposed structures. Recommend all <br />trees planted in the yards remain clear of boulevard areas so there is <br />room to plant boulevard trees. Recommend additional trees be placed in <br />the areas buffering existing residential areas. Recommend City native <br />
