Parkway
Lino Lakes, MN 55014 -1182
Mr. Grochala,
I am excited by the possibility of working with the City of Lino Lakes on a public
meeting /workshop discussing the current and future quality of the Rice Creek Chain.of Lakes. I
believe this could be a greatway.to focus broader attention on the Chain of Lakes and the need
for effective and proactive planning and management in order to protect and improve their
quality.
I have attached some notes of what a meeting might look like, apostcard for a similar meeting
we co- sponsored. with Apple Valley and local news articles on the Apple Valley meeting and a
similar one in Farmington. Our goal for both of these meetings was to engage the public in
discussing some of.the issues impacting water quality and to provide •a forum for feedback to
public officials. Both meetings were well received by residents, city staff and elected leaders.
Good press coverage helped to broaden the scope of the meetings. to include the entire
community.
Let's talk further about how a similar meeting /workshop could.be beneficial for the City and its
efforts to protect water quality in the Chain of Lakes.
enclosures.
Printed with soy -based ink on 100% post-consumer recycled paper
