Public Workshop to discuss the Chain of Lakes, their health and their future. <br />Sponsored by: City of Lino Lakes, Friends of the Mississippi River, others? - Anoka County <br />Parks, Anoka Conservation District. <br />Early December <br />Agenda: <br />Welcome — Mayor of Lino Lakes <br />Presentation — Water Quality in Chain of Lakes. This presentation would include watershed 101 <br />describing how land use impacts water quality — Daniel Huff <br />Presentation — AUAR for Lino Lakes or other items for public input — Lino Staff <br />Break out Sessions — facilitated sessions enlisting public feedback on issues discussed. <br />Wrap -up <br />Roles: <br />FMR <br />1. Develop presentation in corporation with Lino Lakes staff and other partners. <br />2. Collate mailing lists. <br />3. Design, print and mail postcard announcements. <br />4. Call people on lists, invite to meeting. <br />5. Press releases and press contacts <br />City of Lino Lakes <br />1. Assist with presentation. <br />2. Preview and approve presentation, post card, press release <br />3. Provide mailing lists of potentially interested residents and contacts to others <br />4. Host meeting, provide space, refreshments, supplies for break out sessions, etc.. <br />5. Invite City Council, Planning Commission, Parks Commission members, County <br />Commissioner, RCWD Board members, etc. <br />Goals: <br />1. Engage public in planning around Chain of Lakes <br />2. Educate and promote water quality issues among public <br />3. Achieve press coverage <br />4. Focus attention on water quality issues surrounding lakes <br />5. Allow for public feedback to public officials <br />
