Crystal Environmental Quality Advisory Commission This ten - member commission advises the City Council in matters relating to the conservation of environmental resources, including the study and proposal of possible environmental policies; promote public education and awareness relating to such environmental issues. They also motivate interest in the proper use of, care for, the natural resources of the city. They seek information about laws, policies, and regulations of all levels of government that may have environmental or ecological significance for the city. Meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month. It attempts to provide the City Council with accurate information to assist in making and implementing sound environmental policy in such areas as solid waste abatement programming, environmental education, waste reduction and water resource management. Meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Fridley Municipal Center. Golden Valley Environmental Commission Advises and makes recommendations to the City Council in matters relating to and affecting the environment. Seven members serve three -year staggered terms. Annually, the commission is responsible for preparing and recommending a budget on park development and redevelopment projects to the City Council, as well as park policies.
