ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD MEETING OCTOBER 26, 2005 <br />E. Water <br />Grundhofer mentioned that the City used Chlorine to keep its drinking water clean <br />and inquired if Hydrogen peroxide could be used. She was aware it costs more <br />than Chlorine, but discussed its benefits. Bor responded that she would <br />investigate the issue for its municipal functionality and the long -term effects on <br />pipes. <br />Chair O'Dea inquired if the report for Recycling Day was completed. Asleson <br />responded it was unfinished, and indicated that Recycling had always occurred on <br />the first Saturday in October and May. He noted that the Heron Task Force <br />would be meeting at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2005. He questioned <br />Bor if Ron was aware of the meeting. <br />Bor responded she was unsure if Ron was aware of the meeting. She indicated <br />that he was seeking permission to hunt raccoons. Asleson answered that there <br />might not be any birds returning. <br />Grundhofer questioned the number of Blue Herons and Egrets that had raised <br />young. Asleson responded that there were four Blue Herons, but no Egrets. <br />There were several eagle nests. <br />The Board took a brief recess at 7:55 p.m., and reconvened at 7:59 p.m. <br />Bor inquired the name of the developer. Asleson answered it was Tollefson <br />Development. <br />Grundhofer asked if it was their first time in Lino Lakes. Asleson indicated that <br />he believed it was their first site. He stated received a good price for 87 boulevard <br />trees. He was sending letters to residents who would receive trees. <br />Grundhofer questioned if the Trade -a -Tree program was still effective. Asleson <br />answered the cooperative program with Xcel was no longer available. <br />Chair O'Dea inquired if the AUAR was approved. Asleson responded it had been <br />approved, and wanted to know if anyone had seen the final document. <br />Grundhofer stated she had seen the AUAR document, and mentioned it had one <br />"no" vote. <br />7.
