ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD MEETING OCTOBER 26, 2005
Bor questioned if a springtime visit would be helpful. Asleson agreed it would be
beneficial.
O'Dea inquired if additional buffering was necessary on Birch Street. Asleson
responded that he would check into it. He asked if there was still a pile of dirt.
Grundhofer noted it appeared that either some lots were still unsold, or wanted to
know if those areas were to be left open. Asleson was unsure.
Chair O'Dea expressed concern that a large shed might not be located on a
resident's property along Birch Street passed Sherman Lake. Bauman answered
that she believed it was on the resident's property, and commented on its size.
Asleson added that he would have Pete look at the shed, and would be monitoring
the flora in the Spring. He requested to see the tilling process in Stoneybrook. On
the City Hall site, he noticed the City seed mix was not being used. Instead, a
MNDOT mix was used. He corrected the mistake.
Chair O'Dea inquired if the Board should recommend follow -up with the City,
because construction debris might still remain.
Bor recommended inviting the homeowner's association representative to address
the Board from her perspective. Asleson agreed to invite her to an upcoming
meeting. He also stated that TKDA ran through a checklist. He wanted to
remember to recommend that there should be one place to dump and clean out the
trucks, and should be indicated on the plan. Staff noted that there had been
several phone calls complaining about the debris on site.
O'Dea indicated that she was interested in touring the Fox Borough site.
C. Quad Paper
Grundhofer looked for the advertisement in the paper for Recycling Day. She
called the Quad and they said it was on page 13B. She expressed concern that the
announcement was not visible enough, and recommending staff to request it to be
located on the border of the front page in the future.
D. Rud Building
Grundhofer stated visitors from New Ulm, originally from Lino Lakes, inquired
about the office building having lakefront disturbance.
5 DRAFT MINUTES
